As a Feminist, I am aware of this list of privilege in order of first to last in society; white men, men of color, white women, women of color. I am fully aware that women of color are the most often silenced, degraded, and disregarded women in the world. I don’t believe Feminism is specific to color, nor do I think one race trumps another in Feminism. I only believe that women comes first in a movement that is about women’s rights. In acknowledging these things, one also has to acknowledge that women of color have both Feminism and Civil Rights working on their sides, not always cohesively nor perfectly. White women only have Feminism. White women aren’t to be condemned for fighting for themselves, because no one else is.
